About Me:: My father Mr. Claude C. Cook was murdered when I was 8 years of age.Like most young blackmen I grew up without a strong male figure in my life.As a result I fell victim to the streets. My mother was an alcoholic and crack user.She did her best to raise my sister and I but sometimes life will deal you a bad hand. I started selling drugs at 15; I allowed the enemy to trick me into "turning stones into bread". In 1993 a judge in Lansing, Michigan looked at me and she said," Mr. Wilson Im sentencing you 15-60 years because you are a menace to society." While trapped in a cage like a furocious animal, I began to educate myself instead watching BET videoes and playing basketball. I began reading books by Walter Mosely, Frantz Fannon, poetry by Nikki Giovanni. I order tapes by Les Brown and Tony Robbins. I began to read the dictionary every day to build my vocabulary. Nov 27 2007 I was released. Since my release alot of doors have been slammed in my face; however, in the words of Mc Hammer, "Im to legit to quit." Ive been preaching in churches, speaking at youth facilities and also serving as a mentor to young blackmen.
